The Angling Trust and the Environment Agency run "taster sessions" all over the UK but there is nothing running in Essex.
There is now!!!
I took it upon myself to organise 6 events in the Essex area where people can come along and get coaching from a professional angling coach.
I spoke to the EA about it and they are going to back it and sponsor the events, helping by advertising the events to schools, cubs, scouts, disabled etc.
If you know anyone who would like to try angling but isn't sure then let them have the info and they can turn up on the day and get some help.
All tackle and bait are provided free of charge on the day
Sessions may only last half an hour or could be a lot longer, it depends on how many people turn up on the day.
If the EA are there on the day then there will be starter kits given to the youngsters to help them get started. These consist of a 4 meter whip, a rig and a disgorger plus other items. Best of all it's free.
